Lifetime model railroader and 20-year National Model Railroad Association member Ken Jaglinski will step into the recently vacated Trainfest committee chair position.
The NMRA’s Wisconsin Southeastern (WISE) Division board of directors announced the appointment in a March 24 press release. Jaglinski will take over the position from John Tews, who announced his retirement in January. The press release also detailed a couple changes to Trainfest 2014.
Jaglinski had served as the 2010 NMRA National Convention co-chair, where he handled all articles for publication, the opening picnic and catering for the bus trips.
He said he’s looking forward to working on Trainfest and hopes to help the show continue its growth. “Trainfest has become a great ambassador of the hobby not only for model railroad enthusiasts, but also for the next generation of model railroaders,” Jaglinski said.
Trainfest organizers have decided to add smaller, low-cost booths as an entry point for small modeling companies at the 2014 show, according to the release. Small exhibit areas will also allow modelers to bring in smaller layouts rather than just large modular layouts.
Trainfest 2014 is scheduled for November 8–9 at the Wisconsin Exposition Center in the Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis, Wis. For more information, visit www.trainfest.com. |
