eFest’s RealFlight Air Race Challenge is a hit

New to eFest 2014, held Feb. 15–16 at the University of Illinois Track and Field Armory in Champaign, Ill., was the RealFlight Air Race Challenge. Playing off one of RealFlight 7’s more popular features — the Challenges — eFest pilots pushed virtual planes through the R/C flight simulator’s obstacle courses. A real-life obstacle course was also constructed, based on a course found in Level 10 of the RealFlight 7 Air Race 1 Challenge.
Hobbico Product Communications Manager Carol Pesch said both the virtual and real-life obstacle courses saw a significant turnout.
Precise attendance figures were not available, but overall eFest attendance was down slightly from previous years due to the weather, she said.
The weekend also included plenty of 3-D flying, the Make It Take It Airplane Launch and night flying. Hobbico, Horizon Hobby and Robart Manufacturing Co. held seminars. There was also a seminar by Jim Wiggin on how to get an R/C review published. |
