Howard Hitchcock, who previously served as Lionel Electric Trains’ senior vice president and general manager, has been named the company’s new president.
Today’s move comes just two days after Lionel announced Jerry Calabrese had stepped down as president and CEO after ten years in the position. Hitchcock will now be responsible for both the train and die-cast divisions of the business. He will also continue to lead the strategic planning and daily operations of the company.
“I’m fortunate to have such a strong and dedicated team of employees to support me as we transition into this exciting phase of Lionel’s history,” Hitchcock said.
Hitchcock also previously served as senior vice president and general manager of Lionel Racing since its inception in 2010.
Hitchcock joins Chris Elrod and Tony Bordon on Lionel’s leadership team. Elrod was previously named chief financial officer. Bordon will continue to lead Lionel’s digital initiatives.
The company’s leadership will continue to work from its new headquarters in Concord, N.C. Lionel’s service and parts department will move to the Concord location this summer. |
