Trio charged in attempted hobby-shop robbery

Police have arrested a trio of suspects on charges of attempted robbery, attempted aggravated battery, and criminal confinement in two incidents at AA Hobby Shop in Evansville, Ind.
The police report says two men entered the store on Jan. 31 and demanded money. One of the suspects allegedly threw bleach on the clerk and forced him into a back room. Police say the men left with no money.
In the earlier robbery on Jan. 29, the same clerk was bound and threatened with a knife. About $500 in silver coins was stolen and sold at a jewelry store in Newburgh, Ind.
The suspects in both robberies are Kelly Emerson, 37, of Evansville; Dakota Stoneberger, 24, of New Haven, Ill.; and Christy Mercer, 42, of Mount Vernon, Ind., who is believed to have been an accomplice. |
