Mobile payments grow more popular

Published: March 3, 2015

Research by FindABetterBank, a website owned by Boston-based research firm Novarica, indicates that 27 percent of smartphone owners have used their device to complete a transaction at a retail store — an increase of 29 percent from a year ago.

Consumers 30-39 years old are more likely than millennials to make mobile purchases, partly due to the older group's higher income. PayPal is the means for half of all mobile POS payments, while 42 percent used the retailer's mobile app.
