“Know Before You Fly” gains new support
Published:
July 20, 2015 Launched in December 2014 by the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA), the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) and the Small UAV Coalition in partnership with the Federal Aviation Administration to raise awareness about safe and responsible use of unmanned aircraft systems, the Know Before You Fly campaign has gained four new supporters: Castle Creations, manufacturer of electronic speed controls; Hitec, provider of hobby and industrial radio-control systems; JR Americas, distributor of remote control hobby products and accessories; and the Hobby Manufacturers Association.
“We are excited to add more members of the hobby community to our campaign that will help ensure information on the safe and responsible use of unmanned aircraft gets right into the hands of consumers,” says AMA executive director Dave Mathewson, adding that the added support will help ensure that new recreational users will have the education they need “as soon as they open the box.”
