  • IDW Publishing promoted Denton Tipton to senior editor. He has edited many series, including X-Files and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Sarah Gaydos was also promoted to group editor after working on the Disney Star Trek comics.
  • Meng Model named Christopher Mrosko spokesperson of its new U.S. division, and Gordon Kwan as its new U.S. distributor.
  • Geoff Gerber took over as president of Lion Forge Comics. Former president David Steward will remain with the company as a founder and publisher. Writer/editor Joseph Phillip Illidge was hired as se-nior editor after editing Batman for DC Comics.
  • Czech video-game and board-game de-signer Vladimír Chvátil won the 2016 Spiel des Jahres (Game of the Year) in Germany for his board game Codenames. The two other nominees were Phil Walker-Harding, designer of Imhotep, and Rüdiger Dorn, designer of Karuba.
  • David Lowry was hired as Academy Games’ new director of marketing. He will oversee the marketing of the entire line of games.
